Saftra Photonics is a Slovak high-tech company estabilished as a spin-off from the P.J. Safarik University, Kosice, Slovakia in 2014.
The development and the business strategies of the company are based on the research activities in the fields of photonics and biomedical research and development.
Company’s continuous growth is supported by research and development activities focused the detection of pollutants in diverse fields of industry.
We offer our support particularly in water industry, wastewater industry, milk and dairy industry, food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and chemical industry.

SAFTRA Photonics brings to the market the PickMol™ nanotechnology as screening method, that may detect, if any food matrix or any liquid is contaminated.
PickMol™ offers a rapid method
10 minutes to detect presence of the pollutants (for ex. PoPs, Pesticides, Dioxane, Glyphosate etc.), carrying out an on-site analysis, high cost competitiveness and with the same sensitivity (ppb level) as is reached by certified methods (i.e. GC-MS).
The patented PickMol™ technology was completely validated by certified laboratory and may be customized for any organic molecule, which means its large replication potential for various industry applications.

PROF. PAVOL MIŠKOVSKÝ,
CEO & CTO, founder and owner of SAFTRA photonics Ltd.
Specialist in biophotonics and nanotechnologies. PhD degree in Biophysics in 1986 at Charles University, Prague, and DrSc. degree in Biophysics in 2000 at Comenius University Bratislava. He published 160 publications (cited more than 2000 times, H-index 28). Invited professor positions at Sorbonne university/ campus Paris VI University and Orleans University, France. Fulbright scholar in USA. He was invited to over 64 international conferences (including 4 plenary lectures) and several universities and scientific institutions all over the world. He has rich experience with coordination of both international and national research and technology projects (EU FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe, NSF, NATO, bilateral (FR-SVK). Winner of several international technological competitions with PickMolTM technology. He was twice honored by the award “Scientist of the Slovak Republic”.
